Our Story

About Victoria Ballet

One school, two studios, and a single standard of artistry — built on thirty years of teaching.

“How beautiful would it be if every child could learn ballet correctly from the start — learning politely, learning passionately, thinking independently, and caring for one another.”
— Victoria Lee, Founder & Director
Founder's Message

Not all of us want to be ballerinas — but how beautiful would it be if we could learn correctly from the start: learn politely, learn passionately, think independently, and develop a passion for helping and caring for one another.

Our faculty — educators, choreographers, and directors — bring together more than a century of experience in ballet. With a humble attitude and faithfulness to the essence of our art, we believe the opportunity of ballet belongs not to a chosen few, but to everyone — taught scientifically and systematically, helping children find correct posture and movement, and helping them realize it for themselves.

Among these children, some will surely become celebrated ballet dancers. And I am just as sure that the others will grow into wonderful leaders in every field, carrying with them the experience, training, and habits that ballet education gives.

Education is a hundred-year plan. Victoria Ballet will work together for the next generation — the generation that will be responsible for the next hundred years.

— Victoria Lee, Founder & Director

Our Values

What we teach
beyond technique.

Dignity

Every dancer is treated — and learns to treat others — with respect. Ballet teaches children to carry themselves with quiet confidence, in the studio and beyond it.

Courtesy & Consideration

The etiquette of the classical studio is a training in kindness: attention to the teacher, care for fellow dancers, and grace in success and in struggle.

Education & Knowledge

We teach ballet correctly from the very first class. Technique built on understanding lasts a lifetime — education is a hundred-year plan.

Leadership

Older students mentor younger ones; every dancer learns to lead by example. The discipline of the barre becomes character on every stage of life.

The Path

Foundation → Levels I–V → YTC · VBT

Victoria's students have gone on to leading ballet schools across the world — the John Cranko School, Hamburg Ballet, Palucca, Berlin State Ballet School, and more.

Victoria Lee

Founder · Director · Choreographer

Victoria is a choreographer not only for ballet but also for grand operas and musicals, and has taught ballet for three decades — since 1995. She trained at Busan Arts High School and Pusan National University, studied at the Laban Centre in London, and learned the Vaganova method under Professor Byung-Su Min, a former principal of the St. Petersburg Ballet with a doctorate in ballet technique. She also holds a master's degree in Computer Music and lectured at university for three years.

Victoria founded her own ballet school in 2005, growing it to multiple branches in South Korea before opening her California studio in 2022. She has an exceptional record of producing outstanding dancers: many of "Victoria's Kids" have entered the world's leading ballet schools — the John Cranko School, Hamburg Ballet School, Palucca, Berlin State Ballet School, Frankfurt, the Vienna Conservatory, Nuremberg Ballet Academy, SOZO, and more. She continues to train and learn at the cutting edge of ballet, with one mission: educating the next generation of dancers.
